Text Box: Decoder Associates Tom Boyle founded Decoder Associates in 1985 along with a group of other independent software contractors in Philadelphia for the hospital financial industry. Over the years we developed customized financial software for hospitals in various parts of the eastern US. Our most recent hospital software web site covers our PC based Hospital Cost Accounting System. Click on our current web site to the left to view. A new site is under development. We employed Desktop Publishing early on, using Microsoft Publisher to create our own web sites, publish newsletters and brochures to successfully market our consulting and programming services. So it became obvious that we could provide our own proven marketing communications tools (Newsletters, Web Sites, Brochures, Mailing/Labels, etc.) using our existing experience, hardware and software. So we recently decided to add these marketing communications services to the technical services that we already provide to hospital finance departments. Boyle has published articles in magazines and on web sites. These covered Report Mining, Hospital Cost Accounting and other technical topics in hospital finance and Information Technology. The audience has been HFMA (Hospital Financial Management Association) members and HFMA chapter newsletters and HFMA magazines in Virginia, Connecticut, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. In addition to being Publisher of the quarterly VA HFMA newsletter from 2002 thru 2004 he also was webmaster of their first Web Site. Prior to that Boyle worked for IBM in various sales and executive education jobs, with Univac, Shared Medical Systems (now Siemens Medical Systems) and was Director of MIS and CIO at a large multi-division teaching medical center in Philadelphia. He is now semi-retired and lives in Williamsburg, Virginia. He continues to provide programming support to his hospital clients in Pennsylvania.
